About Me:
My name is Allison Burback CD(DONA). I am married to my best friend, Trevor and we have three amazing children Damon 10, Victoria 4 and Domonic 2.
I discovered my passion for birth on February 14, 2005 in my first delivery room as a doula.
After taking a DONA International birth doula training workshop I started on my journey. So far it has taken me to a new found love of this beautiful process. I love every aspect of helping a woman through this amazing time in her life.
I feel blessed to have the knowledge to help educate women and their partners during such a special time in their lives. I believe every woman deserves to experience her pregnancy and birth with confidence and support from those around her. I also believe that pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy. My goal is to empower women and their families through education and support to achieve the positive birth experience they are looking for.
I believe that all women respond to labour differently. Each woman that I work with is unique and that is how I treat them. I think that as a doula my role is to work with you to know what you want and how I can help make your labour a better experience for both of you. I provide physical and emotional support for women and their partners through education, encouragement, massage, visualization, breathing, positioning, counter pressure, in addition to other comfort measures. I always support the decision of the labouring mother whether she births naturally or with medication.
Birth is more than a medical event; it is the creation of family.
